Children should know

This is gender-affirming care.

This is what it actually means, not sparkles and slogans, not “euphoria” and rainbow stickers, but scalpel, scarring, sterilisation, and lifelong medical dependency.

This is what children should be shown in schools before they’re put on puberty blockers, before a therapist tells them they’re “born in the wrong body.”

This is what parents should be warned about when they’re told to “affirm or lose them.”
This is what every young person deserves to understand before they’re pushed down a medical pathway they may not be able to walk back from.

Not ideology. Not utopian promises.
But truth.
The voices of thousands on Reddit and beyond, whispering through regret, saying,
“No one told me the cost.”
“I was a teenager. I didn’t understand.”
“Why didn’t someone stop me?”

We owe it to the next generation to show them the full picture not the censored one.
The stories of detransitioners.
The complications.
The infertility.
The pain.
The loneliness.

This is not hate. This is love with its eyes wide open.
And no more child should be sacrificed on the altar of affirmation.
