Tainted Rainbow

I used to be a festival going rainbow coloured hippy. 

It upsets me so much how the rainbow bright colours have been appropriated and mean absolute trauma and deep anger to me (and many other parents) and recently woke bullshit to lots of many others. Even eldest saw a blue haired character on a cartoon we were all watching and laughed "woke" out loud???! Weird coming from her, but either she's being ironic cos I often say these things, blue haired, nose piercings, rainbows  now have a bad connotation or maybe she's seeing the performative woke bullshit in real life action now??! 

That's me dressed as hubby one year for Halloween, tandem feeding on the multi coloured blanket that became a hooded cape in the evenings or in the rain wandering about fields of music!! 

There's Middle breastfeeding inside that colourful sling I'm wearing sitting next to eldest. She used to choose her own colourful interesting clothes now she's the antithesis in piercings, black and chains or then boy shorts and those sleeveless vests. Nvm the flattened boobs and literally hundreds of scars. 

Is that their childhood legacy now? Is that going to be their colourful queer altered past? 

Scars and ideology? 

Whatever they will be healing from in their future I hope and pray it's not from medical or surgical harm.
